Slamming the stable door closed after the horse has bolted - typical of the Labour Government

I hope you all managed to read a hugely amusing article in yesterday's Daily Telegraph entitled "Lords ban on MPs in expenses row". Lord Jay, the Chairman of the Lords Appointment Committee has written to the leaders of all the main parties advising them that MPs with questionable expenses may be barred from the House of Lords if they stand down before the next election - and - the best bit - urging them to make sure that only candidates of "integrity" are proposed. Bit late for this isn't it - does this mean Gorbals Mick will not be going to the Lords after all?
